What to See at Legian Beach

Legian Beach is attractive not just for the beach itself but the combination of the lively nightlife and relaxing beach fun found on other shores in Bali. In addition to surfing, swimming, sunbathing, and other water activities, there is always a new restaurant or bar to try, in addition to a number of other attractions that include art markets and a waterpark.

Ground Zero Memorial

This monument to the 2002 bombings that took place here on Jalan Legian is a popular stop for tourists. A special ceremony is held here on the anniversary (October 12) to remember the victims. The main feature of the Ground Zero Memorial is the large plaque commemorating them. It is especially nice at night, when the plaque is well-lit. The memorial can be found in front of the White Rose Hotel.

Legian Art Markets

Art, crafts, souvenirs, and tons of other goods can be found at all the popular tourists beaches in Bali, including Legian. Here you will find numerous small shops selling art works as well as the art markets, which sell not just art but also lots of souvenirs, accessories, and miscellaneous trinkets. The Legian Art Markets are the place to find everything from silly knickknacks or finely wrought crafts and artworks. Bargaining is expected, so give it a good try. The main art market is located on Jalan Melasti and is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Waterbom Bali

The best water park in Bali is Waterbom, which contains over a dozen rides, primarily slides. The park is great for individuals, friends, and families, including those with children. There is a wide range of rides available, from the most exciting to the smaller but still fun slides that are good for children. It’s the perfect place to cool off and have fun while taking a break from the beach, and there are a number of good restaurants on-site. Waterbom Bali is located on Jalan Kartika Plaza and is open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Legian Beach

Legian Beach is more laid-back than some of the other nearby beaches like Kuta and Seminyak, but it still offers many fun activities to its visitors. The water is well-suited to surfing, swimming, or beach games like beach soccer or volleyball. Sunbathing and relaxing are equally popular, and things liven up at night in the nearby bars and restaurants. Sunsets are particularly nice here. Occasionally, the central area is known as Blue Ocean Beach.

Rip Curl School of Surf

This is one of the best surfing schools in all of Asia, and certainly in Bali. Lessons here are taught by expert faculty. Beginners and intermediate learners – and even very experienced surfers – can learn something here. These lessons can cover not only surfing but also windsurfing, paddle boarding, and more. Located at Blue Ocean Beach, the Rip Curl School of Surf is a world-class facility.
