Nightlife in Ubud Bali – Where to Party?

Known as one of the top places in Bali to experience and appreciate Balinese culture, Ubud has a more traditional and laid-back nightlife than the fancier and more hard-partying places in the south. When it comes to deciding what to do at night in Ubud, you will be selecting from a number of friendly bars and pubs where you can experience excellent live music. If you are looking for some more traditional culture at night, check out a performance of some Balinese dancing.

Laughing Buddha Bar

Located on Monkey Forest Road, the Laughing Buddha Bar is the perfect example of a friendly and relaxed bar to spend a night in Ubud. There is live music almost every night and when the band isn’t around the music is still good. This is a nice spot to go to sit and enjoy a refreshing drink by yourself or with friends. It is open every day from 8 a.m. to midnight and the band typically starts to play at 9 p.m.

The Melting Pot Gameroom Pub

This is one of the newer bars in Ubud and it has gained admirers thanks to its fun décor and various games at reasonable prices. You can also play pool for a more traditional pub pastime. The Melting Pot Gameroom Pub is decorated with national flags from around the world, and guests are encouraged to sign their name to mark their visit. The pub hopes to attract all kinds of international visitors and it is in a good spot to do so, as it is located near the restaurants on Jalan Hanoman. It is open daily from noon to 1 a.m.

Casa Luna

Casa Luna serves great Mediterranean and Balinese food accompanied by excellent jazz music. Choose some tapas and order a cocktail, sit back, and enjoy the music. Casa Luna is located on Jalan Raya Ubud. Wednesdays are particularly favored, since Brazilian jazz is played weekly starting at 7:30.

Ozigo Bar Ubud

You will find Ozig Bar on Jalan Sanggingan, a small but good nightlife venue located in Campuhan, Ubud. Local and international DJs are in charge of the music for most of the night, but there are live music performances as well to add to the fun. Even more interesting, there are attractive dancers afoot in this cozy bar. There is a dance floor as well as places to hang out outdoors. Join locals and foreigners over in Campuhan by visiting the Ozig Bar for a fun night out.

CP Lounge

The CP Lounge is another fun live music venue that also has a live DJ. It is one of the most active bars, since there are various games and dancing. It is open late and serves food further into the nights than some of the other bars in Ubud. There is a pool table and happy hour deals, so it is a good spot to come and hang out with friends. CP Lounge is located on Jalan Monkey Forest Road and opens at 10:30 p.m.

Lobong Café and Bar

Lobong Café & Bar is home to many performances by one of the best reggae bands in Bali. It is well-frequented by rastafarians an all lovers of reggae music and vibes. The band plays on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday, and you’ll also get a chance to catch a movie night or just watch some sports matches on TV. Laid back and friendly, the Lobon Café and Bar on Jalan Monkey Forest Road is the perfect place to hang out with friends in Ubud.

Balinese Dances

Anyone who would like to see traditional Balinese dancing in Ubud is in the right place. There are a number of places to go in the village to see wonderful performances complete with costumes. Other performances occur, as well, such as impressive shadow puppet programs. You can go to the Tourist Information Bureau for more information and to purchase tickets. Just a few of the venues that host Bali dancing performances include Pura Padang Kerta, Agung Rai Museum of Arts, Ubud Palace, Ubud Water Palace, and many more. If you are around during a full or new moon, you may even get to take in a very special show.
