Kuta has dozens upon dozens of restaurants, some chains, some franchises, and some entirely local. World-class fine dining venues can be found throughout Kuta, especially near the resorts, but there are plenty of very good, fun, and atmospheric restaurants, bars, and warungs as well.
Japanese cuisine makes up the menu at Sushi Tei, and there is plenty of room here for big parties as well as singles, couples, and small groups. There are a number of special dining rooms available if you’re looking to have a private bash or a business meeting, and you can otherwise take a seat in the large hall or outdoors in a beautiful garden. Sushi is obviously the highlight here, but you will find all of your Japanese favorites. Sushi Tei is located on Jalan Sunset Road 99 and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Kori Restaurant & Bar
Kori Restaurant & Bar is a Poppies Lane II venue that features a large menu of Asian and global dishes. The restaurant has a beautiful environment that features lovely plants and flowers as well as small ponds. Diners can sit in this garden in a fine cabana for privacy or dine at a larger table with friends. Kori’s main focus is on seafood, but you will also find excellent meat and vegetarian Indonesian options. It is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Ma Joly Restaurant & Lounge at Sandi Phala Resort
Various dining set-ups are available at Ma Joly Restaurant and Lounge, but whichever you choose you will find yourself in a perfectly atmospheric setting for your meal. Whether you are looking for a special night out with friends or a romantic evening with a date, Ma Joly is an excellent and quite exclusive choice. Located right on the ocean, this restaurant and lounge is the perfect spot to enjoy European cuisine in Bali. It is located at Sandi Phala Resort and is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
One of the oldest of the warungs of Kuta, Made’s Warung has advanced to become a full-scale restaurant featuring an array of cuisines, including local specialties, wider Indonesian dishes, and other Asian and western fare. Dine here if you’re looking for an excellent restaurant that still has its roots firmly in the local area. Made’s Warung is open from 10 a.m. to midnight and is located on Banjar Pande Mas.
Located at Kuta Seaview Hotel on Jalan Pantai Kuta, Rosso Vivo is an Italian restaurant and bar that offers a relaxing atmosphere but is finely decorated and perfect for a romantic evening out. There is a large drink menu and diners will appreciate the great views of the road from the main eating area. In spite of the large windows, there is still a comfortable and private feeling to this venue. It is open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Sample some true and delicious Indonesian cuisine at Ketupat. Here you can appreciate the intricate architecture and décor of the building while you wait for your favorite (or soon-to-be-favorite) regional favorites from around the islands. Kids are welcome and are offered play space as well as a swimming pool. Ketupat has the additional advantage of having a variety of dining options available, including private small rooms, cabanas, and the main dining room. It is open from 9 a.m. to midnight and is located on Jalan Dewi Sri.
Golden Lotus is known around Bali as one of the best dining places for Chinese food. Located at Bali Dynasty Resort, Golden Lotus has gorgeous décor and offers dim sum buffets on Sundays. Favorite Cantonese dishes can be found here, as can excellent Szechuan choices. There are sometimes deals on certain meals for larger groups. The restaurant opens at 11:30 a.m.
